Sweet Seniors!

Senior Scholarship Program:

Seniors are defined as GSPs in our program estimated to be 8+ years old.  The adoption donation for a senior is $150.

The senior scholarship program allows for approved applicants to apply for a sponsorship of the adoption donation, as well as for financial assistance with annual routine vetting up to the amount of $150 per year after the adoption and upon proof of vetting.

Additionally, requests for financial assistance with non-routine vetting expenses can be made to the scholarship committee.  Requests must be made prior to the costs being incurred.

For more information on the senior sponsorship program or to make a request for a scholarship, please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Kemp

Meet Kemp and check out his video!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5A_lHQItC8&;feature=youtu.be

He is approximately 10 years old.  He's had a pretty rough life until now.  He was dumped at the shelter by his family because he was old. This is the same family where he never received treatment for a broken leg. When he came into foster care he could barely walk.  X-rays revealed that Kemp has a broken leg that was never set and now is causing him some problems.  He is seeing a specialist about what to do with his leg in a couple of weeks.  But, that is the great thing about GSP Rescue, they will get him all fixed up!  He's only been in foster care for a week, but what a difference a week can make!  He could barely walk and now is running around the yard!  He loves his soft dog bed, getting two good meals a day and all of the attention in the foster home.  He is currently living with two boys ages 7 and 9.  And, Kemp is great with them.  In fact, he thinks he's part of their team.  When they are playing kickball, he runs after them.  They joke that he even got a hit once.  The ball was rolled to him and it bounced off his leg.  He is having a great time with the boys.  He is also living with a Lab and pug mix.  He is great with both of them.  So, he would be fine in a house with any size dog.  While he does like to run around in the yard, he is also pretty laid back.  He just needs a small yard where he can run a little and then sunbathe.  He enjoys sunbathing on the warmer, pretty days.  He is also crate trained.  He will go get inside it to lay down on his own.  He appears to be house trained, but we have been very careful to make sure there are no accidents.  But, so far, he is doing great.  He is not a chewer, not food aggressive, he really has no bad habits.  In fact, we've never even heard him bark.  He is a great dog and needs to find someone to take great care of him to make up for all of the years of neglect he has had!

He is neutered, HW negative and vaccinated.  He will make a great addition to any family!
