Rooster is estimated to be 10 years old. He is a sweet, funny boy who has been a joy to foster. He is heartworm positive, but is currently undergoing treatment.
For being an older guy, he is the perfect mix of active and couch potato. He LOVES being on the couch (with or without you). He is never happier than when on the couch, snuggling with a blanket. He enjoys walks and plays with toys inside. He loves to be petted.
Rooster is house trained.
We leave him an our enclosed patio room during the day and crate him at night. He is great in the crate at night. He does have some separation anxiety, and will bark and whine some when left in the house alone. He has had a tough life and just wants his people around to love on! He would do great with someone who is home during the day, but has done fine without that as well.
He has some resource guarding issues (food, toys, etc.), and will likely do best in a single dog home or with other dogs that are not territorial. We have never seen him be aggressive towards any dogs, cats or people in our condo complex, he just sniffs and walks on.
You'll notice he has some nicks/scars, again, we think he had a tough life before the rescue, but you would never know from his sweet personality.
We love Rooster and know whoever adopts him will love him too!
